As the sites we visit every day continue to become a more integral part of our lives, there’s an increasing need for individuals who are able to not just build websites, but also make them engaging and intuitive to use.

Our Web Design & Development degree programs give you a holistic vision of web design and development. By learning both design and aesthetic techniques along with programming, coding and database management, you may be able to develop the skills needed to start a career in a developing industry.

Our online degree focuses on both front-end usability and back-end web development. The front-end usability taught in our Associates Degree may allow you to create websites that are intuitive and userfriendly. While in the back-end of web development (our Bachelors Degree), the websites you create communicate to multiple applications such as databases, search engines and e-commerce tools.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn about industry-standard concepts such as Search engine optimization, human-computer interaction and client-side scripting development, in order to put these concepts into practice by creating your own web projects within various courses throughout the Web Design & Development degree programs. You’ll also be able to learn about Web Standards and validation to ensure that your sites are usable on multiple platforms and in multiple browsers.

You’ll be able to develop web design skills and about front-end design concepts as well as programming concepts in web development, and have the opportunity to become fluent in Flash design and database development – including advanced Action Script 3.0 concepts – to add further interactivity and deployments to your projects.

It all culminates with a final project, where you’ll have the opportunity to begin with a production plan that covers the entire scope of your creation, from initial concept to final deployment. You’ll then have the opportunity to use your front-end design skills, database management and server side scripting development knowledge to create an advanced website that demonstrates your mastery of web design and development techniques.
